DTX40 FAQ

What should I pack to wear?

DTX is, above all, a professional conference where many of you will be able to meet and talk to chief medical officers, chief nursing officers and key technical leaders of the three leading dialysis organizations. Please consider bringing clothes that you would wear to a corporate meeting. Your company may have a special evening event planned for you - check with them about what to wear for that.

All this being said, be sure to bring some fun outfits to wear after hours. At DTX ConneXions on Thursday evening, from 8:30 - 10 pm, Brad Weaber, our MC, will be giving out one $100 prize for the best outfit. Ladies, pack your boa ; -) and gents, dress to impress. You might win one of these awards.

I don't have hotel reservations yet - are there rooms left?

How can I get from the airport to the hotel?

The Tropicana Hotel is located just three miles from the Las Vegas Airport. You can use ride sharing (Uber/Lyft) which should be under $20 depending on how busy the airport is when you arrive. You could also share a taxi with friends, or take a shuttle bus:

Will there be any fun social events?

You bet! Join us for DTX ConneXions Thursday from 8:30 – 10:00 pm in the Havana Room. It’s your chance to relax with all the friends you will be meeting during DTX! Come, wear your glitter, and be ready to dance the night away! Brad Weaber, our DTX MC, is giving away five $100 prizes! Four will go to the best dancers. One will go to the individual with the best glitter – so be sure to pack something that will put you in the running for this special prize!

What food is included in DTX40 conference registration?

Here's what you can count on:

Where can I eat lunch in the Tropicana Hotel?

You're on your own for lunch on Tuesday (pre-conference workshops) and Wednesday. Here are the places you can get lunch in the hotel:

Robert Irvine’s Public house – Full menu and take out in the hotel lobby area
Starbucks – open from 6 am ~ 12 pm just off the casino
Red Lotus Asian Kitchen - in the hotel lobby area

Where else can I eat lunch?

The Tropicana Hotel is located by the skywalk (there are no pedestrian crosswalks at ground level) to three hotels on opposite corners.

Excaliber Hotel is closest and has several fast food outlets near the skywalk entrance
New York New York is catty-corner from the Tropicana and also has several fast food outlets near the skywalk entrance and on the ground level
MGM Grand is across the street from the Tropicana - its food court is about an 8-minute walk from the skywalk entrance
